Clinical Testing and Efficacy Results SPF Rating: 75.99 - The SPF rating of a product is the extent to which it protects the skin from getting burnt by the harmful rays of the sun. PA ++++: The PA+ rating is what shows the extent of protection from tanning. Critical Wavelength: 376 nm - The Critical Wavelength is the wavelength at which the sunscreen allows 10% of the rays of the sun to penetrate into the skin. As per the FDA’s guidelines, a Critical Wavelength above 370 is the highest level of UVA protection from the sun and is what qualifies a sunscreen as ‘broad spectrum’. Boots star : The Boots star system is a British marking system to grade the amount of protection provided by a sunscreen in the UVA spectrum relative to the UVB spectrum.
